On 9 March 2026, the World Digital Economy Development Forum and Global Future Industries Cooperation Summit, hosted by the World Digital Economy Organization, took place in Hong Kong. Representatives from digital economy, fintech, industrial innovation and international cooperation discussed digital development, future industries and global digital governance.

At the invitation of Chairman Li Jing, HKAML attended the meeting. Honorary Chairman Huo Zhenyu, a director of the Fok Ying Tung Group and Executive President of the Fok Ying Tung Foundation, signed the Joint Initiative for Financial Integrity in the Digital World on behalf of HKAML together with the World Digital Economy Organization. The initiative calls for global cooperation towards safer, more transparent and trustworthy digital finance.

The HKAML operations centre was also formally established. Chairman Zhang Chuantao attended the presentation ceremony, marking progress from advocacy and mechanism design towards organised operations and implementation, with a clearer foundation for public initiatives, international cooperation and projects.

The initiative addresses shared digital financial security challenges, including online fraud, cross-border laundering, illicit virtual asset transfers, identity theft and emerging digital financial crime. As funds, identities and transactions move rapidly across borders, no single region or institution can independently cover risk identification, intelligence sharing, early warning and trust restoration. It calls on institutions, industry and technology providers to help build a safer, more transparent and trustworthy digital financial ecosystem.

As a co-initiator, HKAML will build capabilities in global coordination, technology-driven approaches, data neutrality and trust. It seeks a risk-information network spanning regions, platforms and industries, consistent with its mission of a fraud-free world. Cross-border and cross-sector cooperation can help address security gaps and connect AML, fraud prevention and trusted transactions.
